The Bucks have gotten off to a hot start sitting at 9-1. They take on the Thunder tonight but they will have to try and find a win without some key pieces. Two key Bucks players are out tonight versus the Thunder.

Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jrue Holiday have both been downgraded to out for tonight’s game versus the Thunder. Holiday was already doubtful with a right ankle sprain but Giannis is a bit of a surprise. He has been dealing with left knee soreness throughout the season but it has not affected his play. He missed the last game against the Thunder but that was the second night of a back-to-back. The Bucks, like the rest of the NBA, had yesterday off. Giannis missing this game is most likely another precautionary measure but it still is concerning.
What Is The Level Of Concern For Injuries?
The 9-1 start has overshadowed the Bucks’ injury problems. Pat Connaughton and Khris Middleton haven’t played all season. Giannis’ knee has been something trainers are keeping an eye on. Now Holiday is added to the mix with an ankle injury. At some point, these injuries will start to catch up with them. The level of concern isn’t high right now because of the hot start and the opponent. If the Bucks drop a couple of games, they can easily recover. They beat the Thunder last week without Giannis so they have confidence in that going into tonight’s game. The injury situation is more something to watch rather than a huge concern.
The Bucks are going to have to find a way to win without their best players. With two key Bucks players out tonight, someone will have to step up their game to fill the shoes of Giannis and Holiday. This is a great opportunity for young players to make their mark and possibly earn more playing time.
