The Brewers were quite busy today as they welcomed Luke Voit and Tyler Naquin to the organization. Naquin, who played within the National League Central as a member of the Reds during the 2021-2022 seasons, indicated that two former Brewers players highly recommended that he sign with Milwaukee. Those players were Daniel Vogelbach and Hunter Strickland.

Tyler Naquin has signed with the Milwaukee Brewers. This is a minor league deal with an invite to Major League camp.
Outfielder Tyler Naquin is a seven year veteran. He began his career in Cleveland, played in Cincinnati for a season and a half, and then finished last year with the Mets. Throughout his career he has compiled a .264/.318/.448 slash line with 100 OPS+.
As a member of the Brewers, Naquin will have the opportunity to compete for a spot in the outfield. Christian Yelich and Tyrone Taylor are the only two returning veteran outfielders for Milwaukee. Jesse Winker is expected to play a lot of designated hitter. There are some up and coming prospects as well such as Garrett Mitchell, Sal Frelick, and Joey Wiemer.
It’s cool to see that two former Brewers players recommended to Naquin that he play in Milwaukee. He was teammates with both players last season but on separate teams as Strickland was a member of the Reds and Vogelbach the Mets.
Naquin also mentions the Brewers track record of winning as a reason for signing. He goes on to mention a familiarity with having also played with Jesse Winker and Wade Miley in the past as well. It’s cool to see all of these players joining up together and hopefully they can all accomplish a lot with the Brewers this season.
