The Packers unfortunately had a very disappointing campaign in 2022 and missed the playoffs. It was the first season under Matt Lafleur where the Packers lost more than four games and did not make it to the postseason. This was a season where the Packers had high hopes to go on a run, but it did turn out that way. The Packers in the offseason do have some tough decisions to make especially at quarterback between Aaron Rodgers and Jordan Love. However, despite all that the Packers are in a very good spot for 2023, and here is why.
The Packers Are Not In A Bad Place When It Comes To Cap Space Going Into The Offseason

The Packers are projected to be over the cap by around 16 million this off-season. Yet, the Packers have Russ Ball who has worked his magic with the cap for the Packers over the past few years. He always seems to know to keep the Packers afloat to make sure they are not too far over the cap going into every off-season. Not to mention the Packers have player’s contracts they can restructure. In fact, the Packers can have over 30 million in cap space with restructures. This means the Packers once again do not really need to gut the roster to create space and could maybe make some moves in free agency as well.
Whether It Is Aaron Rodgers Or Jordan Love The Packers Are Fine At Quarterback

The biggest question for the Packers is: who is going to be the starting quarterback for the team in 2023? The answer to that is it does not matter who it is. The Packers have two solid options at quarterback in Aaron Rodgers and Jordan Love. With Rodgers, he gives the Packers the best chance to win as he has always proven he is arguably the best at the quarterback position. Not to mention winning back-to-back MVP awards. If Rodgers does come back he is indeed the starting quarterback for the Packers.
Jordan Love on the other hand will not be Aaron Rodgers, however, he has shown he can run the Packers’ offense under Matt Lafleur. This year in limited action Jordan Love took a huge step from where he was last year and even almost brought the Packers back against the Philidelphia Eagles. If Aaron Rodgers retires or is traded then Jordan Love will finally get a well-deserved shot. Regardless of who it is the Packers do have good options at quarterback.
The 2022 NFL Draft Was A Sucess For The Packers And Is Something To Build Off Of
The one thing the Packers have is a very solid young core to build around. They nailed the draft in 2022 and got some really good players. In addition, many of the rookies they drafted contributed this year and even helped the Packers late in the season as they were trying to make the playoffs. Players like Quay Walker, Devonte Wyatt, Christain Watson, Romeo Doubs, and Zach Tom are pieces the Packers can really build around. Having a very successful draft in 2022 will indeed help the Packers in the long run.
