The Packers are 11-3 and will welcome the Cleveland Browns for a Christmas day matchup. The Packers are trying to hold on to a one game lead for the NFC’s number one seed. Cleveland is fighting to make sure their season goes beyond week 18. Here’s three reasons the Packers will come out on top.
Number 1: Kenny Clark
The absence of Kenny Clark was felt heavily Sunday against the Ravens. Clark missed the game after a positive COVID test. However, he is back this week and will be facing a Browns offensive line missing their starting center. Even though Green Bay beat the Ravens they struggled to develop a real pass rush and stop the run. Having Clark back will be a huge boost againts a Browns team that can really dominate a game on the ground with Nick Chubb.
Number 2: Aaron Rodgers
Aaron Rodgers is looking at back to back MVP seasons and looks unstoppable right now. Over his last four games Rodgers has been on a different level.
The offense has been on fire and Rodgers is dealing. Him and Davante Adams have been scorching secondaries and will look to do the same on Christmas. Not only are the Packers looking to win, but Aaron Rodgers is chasing history. With one touchdown pass he will break Brett Favre’s franchise record.
Number 3: Aaron Jones
Aaron Jones looked like himself last week on the ground and through the air. Ever since his knee injury he had been working back to his normal load in the offense. The emergence of AJ Dillon gave the Packers time to let Jones get back to 100 percent and let AJ Dillon come into his own. Now the Packers have two true number one backs. However, last week Aaron Jones led the two in touches and found the endzone through the air. Aaron Jones is one of the most dynamic players in the NFL with the ball in his hands, and getting back to his full form can give Cleveland’s defense real nightmares.
