3 Reasons Green Bay Has the Edge

As we’re 24 hours away from kickoff, I am going to illustrate 3 huge reasons why Green Bay will have the advantage tomorrow at Lambeau Field!

    1. Seattle’s Yards Allowed

Seattle’s defense ranks 23rd against the run in the NFL allowing 117 yards per game, and 4.9 yards per rush. Aaron Jones has averaged 4.6 yards per carry this year, added nearly 1,100 rushing yards, and SIXTEEN rushing touchdowns. This, coupled with the fact that Green Bay will be getting back Jamaal Williams this week, who averaged 4.3 yards per carry this year. Along with the fact that there are NO offensive linemen questionable for tomorrow’s matchup, Green Bay looks to have a major advantage on the ground.

    2. Lack of Pressuring

Seattle’s defense ranks 32nd (dead last) in the NFL in pressure rate this year. Even with the addition of Jadeveon Clowney, Seattle has struggled all year getting after the QB consistently. Green Bay’s healthy offensive line (as previously annotated above) has been the best in the NFL in “time before pressure” rate at 2.67 seconds (PFF). Look for Aaron Rodgers to have more time than normal in the pocket tomorrow.

    3. Mismatch in Adams’ Favour

Seattle’s defense is 31st in the NFL in covering #1 WRs (Peter Bukowski). Davante Adams is going to have one of the bigger mismatches of the season this week going up against a secondary that has struggled all year long and have been next to worse in the entire NFL in covering #1 WRs.

So a quick recap, Aaron Jones will be facing a defense that allows nearly 120 yards on the ground per game, Aaron Rodgers will be facing the worst pressure rate team in the NFL (with a healthy offensive line), and Davante Adams is facing a secondary who has been second to worst in the NFL in covering his position. I am looking for Green Bay’s offense to FEAST tomorrow. 27-14 Green Bay.
