The Green Bay Packers secured a very important win last Sunday over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It may have gone down to the wire, but they got it done. This week, Green Bay faces the New England Patriots. This game has a different feel to it as Tom Brady is no longer with the Patriots. Regardless, Lambeau Field will be loud and fans should be in for treat! Let’s take a look at three things we could see come Sunday:
Romeo Doubs Leads Packer Receivers in Yards
When Aaron Rodgers is able to connect with a wide receiver, that is when the Packers offense gets rolling. Fans were able to get a glimpse of what Romeo Doubs is capable of on Sunday, and I only expect more things to come. Coming into the season, it was important that Rodgers could build a relationship with guys like Romeo Doubs and Christian Watson. One thing that impresses me the most is how fast Doubs has been able to adjust to the game and be a dependable target for Aaron Rodgers. I would anticipate that Doubs is going to see even more targets on Sunday, which will be a breath of fresh air for an offense trying to find their identity.
Rashan Gary Records Three Sacks
Rashan Gary is going to have a field day on Sunday. New England’s quarterback, Mac Jones, will be sidelined for some time due to ankle sprain. The starting gig may be given to Brian Hoyer. This may not mean much, but I expect Hoyer to be a bit rusty as he is not a consistent starter. This is going to put more pressure on the offensive line, thus creating more potential for Rashan Gary to make plays. Similar to Chicago, I anticipate that Joe Barry will make whoever is behind center as uncomfortable as he can. Gary has made his presence known this year as he has recorded three sacks through three games. Can he replicate the same amount of sacks this Sunday? I do not believe it is out of bounds to say that he can.
Green Bay Puts Up 40 Points For The First Time This Season
The Green Bay Packers showed what the offense is capable of against the Chicago Bears. One advantage that the Packers have is that this game is played at Lambeau Field. With an electric crowd and things turning in the right direction, this team is going to be hungry for points. I would expect Aaron Rodgers to continue to distribute the ball amongst his receivers. With Mac Jones being sidelined, I think the New England Patriots are going to struggle moving the ball on offense,, which should give Green Bay good field position most of the game. This will also be a good test for players like Christian Watson to start getting their feet wet and contribute to the offense more.
