The Green Bay Packers selected three wide receivers in the 2022 NFL Draft. As exciting as these three are, the Packers wide receiver room is still a question mark. Sammy Watkins has signed on for a prove-it deal, and Randall Cobb is back after taking a pay cut. However, Allen Lazard has not signed his tender yet and there is a rumor he is trying to get himself moved to the Denver Broncos. For this reason, there are still proposals and scenarios that link the Packers to various wide receivers on the market.
A Trade with San Francisco for Deebo Samuel
One of the hottest names on the trade market is All-Pro wide receiver Deebo Samuel. Samuel is reportedly discontent with his usage in the 49ers’ offense. While there are some reports that state the two sides are working things out, there are still rumors abounding.
One of these is that the Green Bay Packers would be interested in acquiring Deebo Samuel to help replace Davante Adams. Both were All-Pro wide receivers last season, making the transition almost flawless. The question, though, is what would it cost to acquire Samuel?
Due to the Packers-49ers rivalry in the NFC, the Packers may have to overpay in order to acquire Samuel. One trade suggestion on the NFL Analysis Network states that it may cost Green Bay a first round and third round pick in next year’s NFL Draft. This would make logical sense, considering the Packers traded Davante Adams to the Raiders for a first and second round pick. That being said, since it is the 49ers, the Packers may have to kick in an extra pick.
