This Ridiculous Bucks-Lakers Trade Brings LeBron James to Milwaukee

When the Milwaukee Bucks’ offseason began prematurely, so too did the wild trade and free agency rumors. Sure, there are some that are pretty realistic, but others are flat out wishful thinking. One of these is a recent proposal by JB Baruelo of The Inquisitr, a publication that covers a variety of topics from sports to politics. In his recent article, Baruelo proposes that the Los Angeles Lakers would be willing to trade LeBron James to the Milwaukee Bucks. In exchange, the Bucks would send Khris Middleton and three first round picks to the Lakers.

NBA Rumors: Bucks Could Trade Khris Middleton & Three Draft Picks For LeBron Jameshttps://t.co/Qx4J4g5K06

    — The Inquisitr (@theinquisitr) May 29, 2022

The Trade Proposal Is Pure Fantasy

It is very questionable that this proposal would even be considered by anyone in the first place. First of all, Khris Middleton, for all his detractors, is a cornerstone of the Milwaukee Bucks roster. He is a three-time All-Star and the franchise’s all-time three point leader. Many analysts and fans agree that had he been healthy, the Bucks would have knocked off the Celtics.

Secondly, as much of an upgrade the LeBron James would be, the Lakers simply will not downgrade their roster like that. Milwaukee will be drafting late in the first round for years to come. Their picks lose value in that regard. Furthermore, Khris Middleton is no LeBron James. Sure, Middleton would allow Anthony Davis to own being the number one option. However, the Lakers expect to win titles. They have won one with the duo of Davis and James. Breaking up a championship duo would be ridiculous. The same can be said about Middleton and Giannis Antetokounmpo. They have already won one together. This is not to say that Middleton is better than James, because he isn’t. However, Middleton is a better fit for the Bucks than James, just as James is a better fit for the Lakers.
