The Green Bay Packers are a long shot to make the 2022 NFL playoffs. However, as Aaron Rodgers said, they’re not dead yet. There are a few routes that the Packers can take to earn that seventh and final seed in the NFC playoffs. However, this one will be the most likely. First, it starts with Green Bay winning out, that is a must. Beyond that, it will get a little dicey. Here is what needs to happen.
Zach Kruse: This Route To The Playoffs Could Work For The Packers
This was posted to Twitter as a path for Green Bay to make the playoffs. It is likely? Probably not, but it is possible? 100% is it. The remaining schedule for the following teams:
- Green Bay Packers need to go 4-0 (W vs. Los Angeles Rams, at Miami Dolphins, vs. Minnesota Vikings, vs. Detroit Lions)
- Washington Commanders: need to go 1-3 (Win vs. New York Giants, Lose at San Francisco 49ers, vs. Cleveland Browns, vs. Dallas Cowboys)
- New York Giants need to go 1-4 (Win vs. Indianapolis Colts, Lose vs. Philadelphia Eagles, at Washington Commanders, at Minnesota Vikings, at Philadelphia Eagles)
- Carolina Panthers need to lose one game
If all of these things happen the Green Bay Packers will clinch a spot in the 2022-23 playoffs. Green Bay will have their work cut out for them needing to beat two teams who are at the top of their conference. The Vikings and Dolphins seem to be playing as good of football as anyone. The Rams and Lions will have to travel to Lambeau so hopefully Green Bay can take care of business there. As far as the other scenarios go, the Commanders and Giants collapsing in December isn’t unheard of. Especially given their rosters. However, they have both earned their way to records above .500 this year and there is a reason for that. The biggest hope for Green Bay is that the Commanders and Giants will be playing mostly playoff quality teams. It will be an interesting finish to the season if we start to see those two teams falter.
