There was nothing that was going to be clean or pretty in the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers game on Sunday afternoon with it being rainy conditions at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin. This was the first time this season that the Lions were playing an outdoor football game.
Detroit looked much better in the rain than Green Bay did and the Lions won the game over the Packers 24-14. In this game, Matt LaFleur was outcoached by Dan Campbell.
Green Bay Packers Head Coach Matt LaFleur Praises the Detroit Lions For Playing Better Than They Did
Head coach Matt LaFleur spoke to the media after the game to discuss what went wrong for the Packers against the Lions. LaFleur said to Matt Schneidman of The Athletic:
“They played a clean game, much cleaner than we did.”
The Packers had one turnover in the game and also a turnover on downs as well. As for the Lions, they did not have a single turnover in the football game. Jordan Love threw another pick-six in the game and Jared Goff continues to throw touchdown passes and rarely throws incompletions this season.
Bye Week Upcoming
The good news for the Packers is that even though they are 6-3 this season, they will be entering the bye week with a good record. The Detroit Lions are 7-1 this season and are on track to win the NFC North once again. During the bye week, hopefully, Jordan Love can figure out his turnover mess.
It will be interesting to see how that will play out in the second half of the season. The Chicago Bears will be the next opponent for Green Bay after the bye week.
