The Packers Are Looking Smart With Jordan Love

There is still criticism with the Packers selecting Jordan Love in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. That move really sent shock waves throughout the football world as it seems the Packers might move on from Rodgers in the future. However, the Packers are setting Jordan Love up for success if he is the Packers quarterback in the future. Most teams are making the Packers look smart with Jordan Love and here is why.

Trevor Lawrence- He Is In A Tough Situation

Trevor Lawrence fantasy football start/sit advice: What to do with Jaguars QB in Week 3 - DraftKings Nation

Unlike Jordan Love, Trevor Lawrence is in a tough spot with the Jacksonville Jaguars and it is not getting any better for him. He was a football god at Clemson as he took college football by storm. Yet, Trevor is getting a lesson on playing tougher competition in the NFL than in college. Not having a great offensive line makes it worse. Lawrence will be a good player in the NFL, however he should have sat for this year as he is still getting used to NFL competition. Gardner Minshew might have been helpful for the Jaguars as Trevor clearly needs time to develop. Jordan Love is really lucky to be a in good spot with the Packers.

Zach Wilson- Thrown Into the Fire

The Company Zach Wilson Keeps - Gang Green Nation

Teams that pick in the top five are mostly bad teams. An example is the New York Jets who drafted Zach Wilson second overall. Not only is he with the New York Jets, he is getting a really bad hand from the team as well. The talent around him is not good enough. Wilson has been sacked fifteen times in three weeks, the MOST in the NFL this season. He also leads the NFL in interceptions. Like Jordan Love, Wilson is a raw prospect and also needs time to develop. Jordan Love, however, will not be rushed into the starting lineup like Wilson. It’s clear who is doing a better job at developing their young quarterback between the Packers and the New York Jets.

Mac Jones- Rushed To Be The Starter

Mac Jones looks like a veteran in his first start for New England

The Patriots used a first round pick for Mac Jones. He is in a good situation, especially with Bill Belichick as head coach. On the other hand, he is not a finished product and it showed this passed Sunday as he threw three interceptions. While he has a lot of talent, the Patriots dropped the ball making him the starter. Jones could have sat behind Cam Newton and waited before taking the reigns as starter for the Patriots. Even if Newton is not a elite quarterback anymore, it still helps not rushing Mac Jones development. The Packers are doing the opposite of the Patriots and not rushing Jordan Love’s development.

Justin Fields- Jordan Love Is Really Lucky Not To Be Him

Bears' Matt Nagy putting new Justin Fields plan in motion - Chicago Sun-Times

Justin Fields is in a terrible situation right now out of all the rookie quarterbacks and it is not even close. He has a  head coach in Matt Nagy, who still has a head coaching job. Field also has a general manager in Ryan Pace who failed to build the offensive line that has been a huge problem for years. On Sunday against the Cleveland Browns, Fields stood no chance as he was sacked NINE times. He is currently the second most sacked quarterback in the NFL in only two weeks as a starter. This is not how you set up a talented quarterback like Justin Fields up for success.
