The Aaron Rodgers saga continues. The biggest offseason decisions is what will happen with Rodgers. He has the ability to change the course of multiple franchises depending on what happens. This morning, The Athletic dropped a bombshell report on the Aaron Rodgers saga.
NFL executives believe Aaron Rodgers took advantage of the #Packers and think that Green Bay is now done with him and will trade him away, according to the @TheAthletic
They think that the #Raiders prefer Jimmy Garoppolo over Rodgers at QB next season.https://t.co/Fadpg4IjWI pic.twitter.com/ImH65lMmsK

NFL Executives On Aaron Rodgers
The Athletic interviewed NFL executives to get their take on the situation. They did not hold back. “I think the Packers are done with him” said one longtime NFL executive. One report also quoted another executive who thought that Rodgers took advantage of the Packers.
“‘I think he showed his true colors last offseason when he held them hostage and took $50 million a year’, another exec said. ‘He knew he could get the best deal from the Packers, and now that he has it, now that he has secured the bag, he is open to leaving'”
These are some pretty strong words from executives. The feeling amongst the league’s higher ups is that the Packers will absolutely move on from Rodgers if he is coming back to play.

Raiders Off The List?
According to the report, one executive thinks that the Vegas fit is a weird one. Head coach Josh McDaniels would rather have someone he could develop. The executive mentioned that Jimmy Garoppolo is a more likely target for the Raiders than Rodgers. Many Vegas players have been heavily recruiting Rodgers and it would be interesting to hear how they felt about Garoppolo rather than Rodgers. Other teams are slated to be in the mix as well and I’m sure Rodgers will have no shortage of suitors.
Any Validity To The Report?
What is interesting about the report is that it is from NFL executives. They are usually fairly in tune with each other and how the NFL works. I’m sure there is some frustration within the Packers’ organization about the play of the previous season. They were going for a Super Bowl and didn’t even make the postseason. The play of Aaron Rodgers was a big reason why amongst others. The Athletic is also a well sourced site which gives the report validity.
This is yet another wrinkle in the Aaron Rodgers saga. Rodgers cannot respond immediately as he is in complete darkness right now. A decision will most likely be made by early March. Until then, let the speculation continue.
