It did not take long for Tanner Koziol to find a new team after leaving Wisconsin Badgers on Wednesday.
Reports have it that the 6’7 senior tight end committed to the Houston Cougars.

“Houston has landed a commitment from tight end Tanner Koziol, the top available TE in the transfer portal At Ball State last year, Koziol posted 94 catches for 839 yards and eight touchdowns, which led to him being named All-MAC honors,” Rivals Portal announced on X.
Koziol was one of the key figures Badgers head coach Luke Fickell was hoping to rely on in the next season. He joined the team after great stint with Ball State University where he recorded 94 receptions for 839 yards. He also had eight touchdowns. These numbers led to him getting named to the Second-Team All-Mid-American Conference
He was projected to become the starting tight end for the team.

His departure was reportedly due to a series complaint about how the team was handled.
Tanner Koziol:
– Left Ball State for Wisconsin
– Came to practice where he reportedly struggled
– Left the team to go stay with his parents after allegedly being asked to block
– Has issues with football coaches using curse words/speaking in elevated volumes

Wisconsin Badgers on wrong end of tampering again?
Fickell accepted the departure of players although he did not name them.
“It is what it is” is what he said although he had parting words saying it is a grown man’s game and players have the right to leave if they can’ handle the heat.
There might be another angle in all these though. Maybe Koziol leave because of another team’s offer?

The timing of the commitment of suspect and Badgers fans are entertaining the idea of Houston committing tampering violations.

In case you missed it, Badgers are still embroiled in a legal battle against their former player Xavier Lucas who transferred to Florida. The team is crying tampering for the sudden transfer.
