The Aaron Rodgers saga continues to take unexpected turns.
Who’s Thrown Their Name Into The Hat For Aaron Rodgers?
According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, an anonymous NFC executive revealed that an outside of the box team has shown interest in acquiring the 39-year-old former MVP’s services.
“One NFC executive brought up an interesting team that’s sort of random but would make some sense on paper: Indianapolis. The Colts enter the offseason with $20.6 million in cap space. They absolutely need a quarterback. Despite a four-win season, the roster is not void of talent, especially on defense. And Indy owns the fourth overall pick, an easy dangling point in a potential deal with Green Bay,” Fowler proclaimed.
“‘[Indianapolis general manager Chris] Ballard has to get one [a quarterback] and get it right,’ the executive said. ‘Maybe they just draft one and save the money, but Rodgers would be different than their other past stopgap options because he’s more of a sure thing.'”
Since Andrew Luck’s abrupt retirement in 2018, the Colts have had quite the revolving door of QB’s as the club has had career-long veteran backups such as Jacoby Brissett, Brian Hoyer, and Nick Foles stand under center in a starting capacity. Indianapolis has also seen aging or injury-plagued signal callers become the club’s starter in the form of Phillip Rivers, Carson Wentz, and most recently Matt Ryan in 2022-23.
What’s Next For Aaron Rodgers?
Meanwhile, Fowler’s latest report is yet another twist that Aaron Rodgers off-season saga has taken. Rodgers hasn’t helped calm the nerves of Packers fans and media alike as the future Hall of Famer has seemingly added fuel to the fire of retirement rumors anytime he’s been able.
If tonight was truly it for Rodgers, at least in Green Bay, it’ll end an 18-year run with the Packers, where the California-native led the team to a Super Bowl championship in 2011. Rodgers ranks second in yards all-time for the franchise (59,060), only trailing Hall of Famer, Brett Favre (61,655), while already securing the top spot for the club in touchdown passes (475).

Die hard Packers fan, and I think that Aaron, if traded should go to Las Vegas, get back Devante Adam’s. And everyone should shut the hell up, and pull up your pants!!! The problem with the Packers this season falls on the coach and front office. We had the best trio. Aaron Rodgers, Devante Adam’s, and Aaron Jones. Potent…
