Would the Packers go all in on a WR with Super Bowl experience?
Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers seems confident with rookie wide receiver Romeo Doubs. Rodgers indicated this week he’d like veteran pass catcher Randall Cobb to get more game reps. The passing game has improved over the past few weeks. But signs indicate the Packers are still in the market for a wide receiver, mainly as the season winds down and the team ratchets up for a Super Bowl run.
Rodgers entertained the possibility of Odell Beckham Jr. playing with the Packers later in the season. With veteran wide receiver Sammy Watkins out for a while, the team should consider taking more help at the position. One analyst thinks the Packers would be a great option to land Nelson Agholor.
Agholor isn’t needed on the Patriots
According to Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report, The Packers are considered a “best fit” to land the Super Bowl champion-winning wide receiver.
If the 1-3 New England Patriots believe they can get back into the playoff mix, they may not be interested in moving wide receiver Nelson Agholor. Though not the most consistent receiving option, he has played a large role in recent weeks.
Back in Week 2, Agholor caught six passes for 110 yards and a touchdown. In Week 4, he caught three for 46.
The problem is that with quarterbacks Mac Jones (ankle) and Brian Hoyer (concussion) both injured, getting back in the playoff mix may be difficult…
The Green Bay Packers may also want to take a look at Agholor, as their new-look receiving corps continues to be a work-in-progress.
Green Bay has $8.5 million in cap space.
The Patriots’ playoff window is rapidly passing them by. Without Jones, the Patriots are for sure the third-best team in the AFC East, if not the worst. It would make sense for the Patriots to try and deal Agholor. The Packers may as well see if the Patriots will work out a good deal for Agholor. His Super Bowl experience would be helpful for this Packers team come the playoffs. He can help teach the wide receivers corps rookies how to focus in the playoffs.
