The Milwaukee Bucks picked up another win last night against the Pheonix Suns. This team was missing Kevin Durant but it was still an impressive win on the road for a Bucks team that picked up their 50th win of the season. After the game, Suns coach Monty Williams expressed how difficult it is to play against Giannis Antetokounmpo.
“It’s just not fair”

Suns Coach Monty Williams On Playing Against Giannis
The comment was in reference to two different things. The first is Giannis. He is a unique player to play against and impossible to defend. A player of his size should not be able to do the things he can do on a basketball court. The second is that Williams was making a little dig at the refs. Antetokounmpo shot 24 free throws last night which dwarfed the entire Suns team who only shot 16 for the night. Williams was clearly frustrated with the officiating.

The Refs Have Been Taking Heat All Season
This isn’t new for the refs of the NBA. Many teams, coaches, and players have been frustrated with the officiating this season. The issue stems from how difficult it is to officiate players like Giannis. He isn’t the only player that is completely unique and difficult to play against. The game moves fast and officials have to make split-second decisions. I will say this about last night. The Suns are more of a jump-shooting team whereas Antetokounmpo drives to the basket often. Clearly, there will be more foul calls on drives to the basket rather than jump shots.
This probably won’t be the last time that a head coach laments how difficult it is to play against the MVP candidate. He is an all-time great and has the team poised for another finals run.
