After the Packers ugly week one loss in Minnesota, many people pointed to the absence of Davante Adams as one of the main reasons Green Bay couldn’t get the job done.
The stats comparing Adams and the Packers’ receivers were a huge talking point.
Adams caught 10 passes for 141 yards and a TD. Green Bay’s receivers combined for 120 receiving yards and 0 touchdowns.
In week two, the results were different. Adams only caught two passes for 12 yards and a touchdown. Five of Green Bay’s receivers had more yards than Adams. Sammy Watkins had 93 yards, Cobb had 37 yards, Watson had 34 yards, Doubs had 27 yards, and Lazard had 13 yards and a TD.
Clearly, there’s no need to keep comparing these numbers week-to-week. Adams had a great week one showing, but couldn’t get much going in week two. It was the opposite for the Packers and their receivers. Each week will continue to be different depending on personnel and opposing teams.
The Raiders are 0-2 to start this season. Of course Adams is an incredible player, but clearly having him on your team doesn’t guarantee a win.
The bottom line is, Adams chose to leave Green Bay in favor of Las Vegas, so it’s time to focus on him being in Vegas.
