Not many analysts and former NFL players are optimistic about Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers chances in the 2025-2026 season but there’s one thing that is already a victory for them.

Steelers legend Ben Roethlisberger thinks the team will benefit greatly with the presence of the four-time MVP if it is about the future of their quarterbacks.
The team selected Will Howard for their 185th pick in the last draft. He is not expected to be inserted right away in the main roster but he will have the chance to learn from the best.
“I think the person that’s going to benefit the most from all this is Will Howard,” said Roethlisberger who was Steelers QB for 17 years and won them two Super Bowl titles.
“Because he gets to see how a Hall of Fame guy does it — for good, bad, and different. Whatever is going to happen.”

What’s more exciting for the 23-year-old Howard according to Big Ben is that he one other QB to learn from.
“He gets to see how Mason [does it], who has been a journeyman — I mean, you could call him that. He’s been a backup. He’s been a little bit of a starter. Mason’s kind of done a lot of things. Will gets to sit back and be like, ‘Okay, I see how he approaches it, I see how he approaches it, I see how this is.’ He is going to benefit the most from this whole thing, in my opinion.”
Aaron Rodgers to watch Will Howard closely
Howard himself has a tempered expectation for his rookie season but he is just as excited as top pick. This is because he will work with Rodgers who he said is his idol growing up.
He and A-Rod got to meet face to face during one of the practices and the Green Bay Packers legend thought he saw potential on the former Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback.

Talking to reporters lat week, Rodgers said he will make it a point to help the young QB.
“I’m gonna be with him every single day in every single meeting,” he said.
“Found my seat next to him today in the offensive meeting, whether or not that sticks, right next to Will Howard. So, I’m gonna help him out as much as I can.”
