The Green Bay Packers did not address the cornerback position in the first three rounds of the 2025 NFL Draft. Many thought that Green Bay was going to draft a cornerback in the early rounds, but they decided to draft two wide receivers and an offensive lineman instead.

Many Packers fans are wondering what the deal with cornerback Jaire Alexander is. Green Bay was trying to trade him during the offseason. If they don’t trade him, will they release him or keep him on the 2025 roster? Those are decisions that general manager Brian Gutekunst will have to make before the 2025 NFL season begins.

With the 2025 NFL Draft over, it is never too early to predict what Green Bay’s roster is going to look like in 2025. Alexander has been with the team since 2018, but there is a chance that his roster spot could be in jeopardy. With his spot being in danger, Wendell Ferreira of A to Z Sports chimed on the potential roster for the 2025 season.
For the cornerback position, he has Keisean Nixon, Nate Hobbs, Carrington Valentine, Kamal Hadden, and Micah Robinson making the team out of training camp. He does not Alexander making the team in 2025. Ferreira said,
“Presuming Jaire will be traded or released at some point, there will be two roster spots up for grabs among young cornerbacks. Micah Robinson could make it as a seventh-round rookie, while Hadden and King will fight for the final spot.”
There is a chance that Alexander goes into training camp on the roster. However, his spot should not be guaranteed because of the injuries he has suffered over the last two seasons. If Alexander does get released before the 2025 NFL season, there will be a lot of NFL teams interested in signing the first-round pick also.
