The Milwaukee Brewers lost shortstop Willy Adames over the weekend in free agency to the San Francisco Giants. Also, they lost starting pitcher Frankie Montas to the New York Mets in free agency. One of the weaknesses of the Brewers a season ago was starting pitching.
One name to watch for in the trade market this offseason is Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Garrett Crochet. Crochet was rumored to be traded at the MLB trade deadline last season, but he never was traded.
Sources Say That the Milwaukee Brewers Are One Of The Few Teams Interested In Chicago White Sox Pitcher Garrett Crochet
With the MLB offseason in full swing, there will be a lot of transactions occurring over the next few weeks in preparation for the 2025 MLB season. One name that many teams want is starting pitcher Garrett Crochet. According to Jon Morosi of MLB Network, sources have told him that the Brewers are among the teams still engaged with the White Sox on Crochet.
The Milwaukee Brewers need starting pitching in the worst way. It would be interesting to see which prospects Milwaukee would have to give up if they acquired him from the Chicago White Sox. He had a 6-12 record last season with a 3.58 ERA. Crochet pitched in 146.0 innings and struck out 209 batters. Crochet also had a 1.07 WHIP. He only walked 33 batters last year and only gave up 123 hits and 61 runs.

Brewers have the assets to make this move. They’ll need to give up one of their good young INFs though.

So trade for Crochet and then trade your closer? This franchise makes no sense

It would be intriguing to see who they would trade away but there is no question that catcher Jeferson Quero would be one of the prospects in this potential deal. Another player that could be traded is prospect third baseman Brock Wilken. Would the Milwaukee Brewers be willing to give up quality prospects for Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Garrett Crochet? Stay tuned if the Brewers decide to make a move for him.
