Social Media’s Massive Overreactions to Bucks vs. Celtics Game Six

Sports are fun. Winning is fun. Losing, though, tends to bring out the worst in some people. Perhaps it’s because they never learned that games are just that: games. If the events that unfolded after the Bucks vs. Celtics game in Milwaukee taught us anything, it is that there are hundreds of things more important than a game, even a playoff game. That being said, the Bucks losing Game Six was difficult for many grown adults to handle. This was evident by several posts on social media.

#1- George Hill Will Drive People Away from the Sport of Basketball

Let’s not sit here and pretend that George Hill is having a good series against the Boston Celtics. He isn’t. That is not up for debate. However, this fan was so offended by Hill’s performance, that they (sarcastically) stated they may never watch basketball again.

If I ever see George Hill on an NBA court for the Milwaukee Bucks again I’m turning off the TV and never watching this sport again

We’ll get to more Coach Budenholzer slander in a moment, but did you know that playing George Hill at all is one of the worst coaching decisions in recent memory?

George Hill minutes are literally the worst coaching decision I’ve seen in a long time

    — sqr (@squaresense) May 14, 2022

Jon Horst built a championship roster in Milwaukee for the first time in 50 years, but signing George Hill has not saved him from criticism.

Bucks need to send George Hill to pasture this offseason. I hated the signing when it was announced because I thought he was washed and he’s just completely washed. If he’s on the opening day roster next year then Horst made a massive mistake

#2- Coach Bud Needs to Be Fired

Remember when Milwaukee Bucks fans all banded together and created the trend #FireBud? Remember when the Bucks didn’t fire Coach Budenholzer and won the city’s first championship in 50 years? Apparently some have forgotten.

It’s time to bring the movement back #FireBud pic.twitter.com/4acLTuEjIV

fire bud please i cannot handle him anymore he is actually horrible

    — 𝖏 𝖆 𝖘 𝖔 𝖓 | SAW PARAMORE 8/1/23 (@highimjasonn) May 14, 2022

yeah fire bud literally right now

    — piss shiddleton (rynrly.bsky.social) (@rynrly) May 14, 2022

Coach Budenholzer is, quite literally, one-year removed from winning a NBA title. He also has a freshly inked extension. Unless he pulls a Vogel and misses the playoffs completely next year, he is in Milwaukee for the long run. The sad thing is, most of his “haters” would rather the Bucks take a dive with Bud than win it all again, just for the sake of being right.

#3- Fans Don’t Want Packers Players at Bucks Games

Listen, I’m not going to say that this is the belief of everyone. I’m not even saying that it is the belief of the majority. However, when I posted my article with the video of David Bakhtiari chugging beers at Game Six on Facebook, I received the following:

I rarely read the Facebook comments on my posts for many reasons. Here's one that was a comment on my post about DBak drinking beer at the Bucks game. pic.twitter.com/WE1lKdaZa0

I mean, I’m at a loss for words with this one. Okay, sir. You do you.
