There are not many more humble players in the NBA than Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo. Additionally, there are few stars with the work ethic and drive to be the best that can match that of Giannis. For some reason, though, former NBA All-Star Gilbert Arenas took it upon himself to knock Giannis in his latest episode of No Chill. To say social media, even non-Bucks fans, took exception to it would be an understatement.
The Giannis disrespect is WILD.
And he'll just keep making them look like idiots. pic.twitter.com/JJEBGRGejP

What Gilbert Arenas Had to Say about Giannis
Among other things, Gilbert Arenas said that Giannis “doesn’t know how to be great, how to get better, how to train his body.” Now, he never mentioned Giannis by name, but it was easy to tell who he was talking about. Needless to say, basketball fans had at him on social media.
tell me who you think Gilbert Arenas is talking about because I refuse to believe he is talking about Giannis…
and if he is this is the biggest hating shit I have ever seen. "he doesn't know how to be great, how to get better, how to train his body" pic.twitter.com/PdgPlRhd9o

Who in their right mind would listen to Gilbert Arenas. He just talks a lot but says nothing of substance. Of course the Bucks want to monitor his mins so he remains fresh. Gilbert sounds like a novice with that bad take. Anyone can see Giannis is doing it the right way

They should be embarrassed this take was actually recorded. Giannis still getting disrespected at this point is wild. We gotta appreciate greatness when it’s in front of us man. https://t.co/EWgJf0fDLG

Insane how Gilbert is trying to spin Giannis’ ability to score 30 points in 30 minutes through the regular season as a bad thing…
Ridiculous.

This is embarrassing.
Giannis doesn't deserve this.

There are bold statements, and then there are just bad takes. What Gilbert Arenas had on his show were simply bad takes, to put it mildly. One has to wonder if he even remembers his own injury-plagued career when he talks about “how to train his body.” While Giannis does get games off for “rest,” he has never missed the amount of games to injury that Gilbert Arenas did. I mean, Giannis hyperextended his knee in the Eastern Conference Finals and came back to lead the Bucks to a NBA Championship. That ring Giannis has, by the way, is something Arenas never won in his career.
Oh, and let’s not forget: Giannis is a pillar of the community and a genuine person. Gilbert Arenas was the center of a scandal in which he brought guns into the Washington Wizards locker room. Reportedly, he and teammate Javaris Crittenton had a dispute over a gambling debt. Crittenton was eventually convicted of murder of an ex-girlfriend a few years later.
Clearly, Arenas might have some kind of jealousy issues.
