Giannis Antetokounmpo had a historic night against the Bulls. He had 45 points, 22 rebounds, and 7 assists becoming just the 10th player in NBA history to have multiple games of 40-20-5. He is the only active player to do so. Undisputed’s Shannon Sharpe took to social media after the game and made a bold proclamation about Giannis.
Giannis has a 40-20-5 gm with 3 mins left in the 4th. We can debate who’s in the top 5, but #1 isn’t a debate anymore. It’s Giannis.

Shannon Sharpe: Giannis Being #1 “Isn’t A Debate Anymore”
A conversation that is often had in the NBA is about who is the best player right now. The NBA is full of talent right now with many players being unbelievable to watch on a nightly basis. Shannon Sharpe says that we can keep debating the top 5 but Giannis is the clear #1. “We can debate who’s in the top 5, but #1 isn’t a debate anymore,” Sharpe said on Twitter. “It’s Giannis.” These are strong words from a person who has no ties to the Bucks or the state of Wisconsin.
Giannis Needs Help
The only bummer about this historic night was that it came in a loss. While Giannis might be the #1 player according to Shannon Sharpe and many others, he can’t do it by himself. Both Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday were out last night with injuries. Obviously getting those two players back in the lineup will help drastically. However, it does feel like the Bucks need another piece or two. Look for them to be highly active at the trade deadline and add some more scoring to help with the lackluster offensive numbers.
Shannon Sharpe is probably not alone in thinking Giannis is the best player in the NBA. While Luka Doncic is putting up historic numbers himself, Giannis is able to duplicate the historic nights. Hopefully, the Bucks will get healthy and add some shooting as they attempt to win another championship.
