The Green Bay Packers cut the roster to 53 players on Tuesday, and Romeo Doubs was one of six wide receivers to make it, to no one’s surprise. Doubs has earned his way to be a starting wide receiver on this football team after fighting to make the team as a fourth-round rookie a season ago.
Romeo Doubs 1 of 6 WRs To Make Green Bay Packers Roster
This will be a young football team this season. Romeo Doubs will be a part of this Packers’ 53-man roster for years. He is one of the players to make noise across the NFL this season potentially. The other five wide receivers joining Doubs on this football team are Christian Watson, Dontayvion Wicks, Jayden Reed, Malik Heath, and Samori Toure.
The receivers that were on the training camp roster that they did not keep were as follows: Jadakis Bonds, Dre Miller, Duece Watts, Bo Melton, Cody Chrest, and Grant DuBose.
The wide receiver room for the Green Bay Packers this season is either rookies or second-year NFL players. This potentially means growing pains early on for the Packers in the 2023 season. The top three wide receivers on the depth chart are Watson, Doubs, and Reed.
Romeo Doubs Needs To Be a Leader in the Receiver Room
With this being a young wide receiver room for the Packers, Doubs will need to be a leader in the receiver room. It is unusual they have a receiving group this young. They are thinking about the long term and not the short term with this roster.
Romeo Doubs had a great preseason, and he will look to keep it going in the regular season. The Packers’ offense will be successful if he helps out quarterback Jordan Love.
