The Chicago Bears will be without one of quarterback Caleb Williams’ top targets and one of the offense’s most prolific weapons on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers.
Friday afternoon, the Bears officially ruled out wide receiver Rome Odunze for Sunday’s pivotal NFC North showdown.
Bears will be without Rome Odunze vs. Green Bay Packers
Odunze, chosen by the Bears in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, will miss Sunday’s contest due to an injured foot.
Last Friday against the Philadelphia Eagles, Odunze played starter-caliber snaps, catching six passes for eight yards, but suffered the injury either at some point during the game because he was a non-participant in practice for Chicago, all wekk.

In Odunze’s absence, the Bears could look to rookie Luther Burden to continue expanding his role as he has taken significantly more snaps over the past three weeks.
This season, Odunze has caught 44 passes for 661 yards and six touchdowns, taking on a bigger piece of the pie in the Bears’ passing game.
Getting the Bears without Odunze, and shorthanded around Williams, is a boost for a Packers defense that must figure out a way not just to beat Chicago but prevent the second-year quarterback from notching a sixth-comeback win, should he have the opportunity to on Sunday afternoon.
