Week one was as tough week for the Packers. The offense struggled to get much of anything going. On top of that it seemed they got away from their game plan early. It has been made pretty clear that Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon need to be a major part of the offense. They, unfortunately, only got 23 total touches vs the Vikings. Another player who saw VERY little action was wide receiver Amari Rodgers. In total he saw zero targets receiving, and one rush attempt for -1 yard. Aaron Rodgers was asked about the wide receiver’s lack of touches in week one.

That is a rough response from the four time MVP regarding Amari Rodgers. It would appear that the wide receiver’s place on the team may be may be solely returning kicks for now. Aaron Rodgers has publicly praised young wide receivers in the past. Namely Romeo Doubs, Juwann Winfree, Jake Kumerow, and Christian Watson. He had an opportunity to do the same here, yet decided not to.
Green Bay drafted Morgan Burnett in the third round back in 2010. Since thne? This is the list of their third-round picks: Alex Green, Khyri Thornton, Richard Rodgers, Ty Montgomery, Kyler Fackrell, Montravius Adams, Oren Burks, Jace Sternberger, Josiah Deguara, Amari Rodgers, and Sean Rhyan. Not the best list to be apart of. Amari Rodgers will have to take advantage of his limited opportunities this season to get an opportunity on offense. For some wide receivers is takes years to develop into what they want to be. Davante Adams was a prime example of that. We will see if 2022-23 is the end or the beginning for Amari Rodgers.
