The New York Jets have a former Packers quarterback
The Green Bay Packers and New York Jets have been reportedly working on an Aaron Rodgers trade deal. The Jets have made many moves to appease Rodgers ahead of the expected trade. They hired former Packers offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett. During free agency, they signed a favorite wide receiver of Rodgers, Allen Lazard. They added backup Tim Boyle to the roster last week. Boyle’s contract terms were revealed Tuesday.
According to Aaron Wilson with KPRC, the former Packers quarterback was signed by the Jets on a one-year deal. Boyle’s salary with the Jets is $1.08 million. He will have $75,000 guaranteed. Boyle can earn a $75,000 bonus by making the active-inactive roster.

According to Spotrac, Boyle’s salary in New York will be the highest it’s ever been since he’s been in the league, starting with the 2018 season. However, his total earnings next season are projected at $1.115 million, less than what he made in his first two seasons with the Detroit Lions ($2.376 million in 2021 and $1.175 million in 2022.) Boyle’s lifetime earnings, including the new Jets contract, are projected at $7.629 million.
