Richard Sherman does not think the Green Bay Packers are going all in with Jordan Love despite the team giving him a 4-year, $220 million contract.
The Packers failed to get a second game in the playoffs just like last year after losing to the Philadelphia Eagles in the wildcard round with Love playing what could be his worst game in a while.
In his podcast, Sherman went off on how Love did not live up to the amount of the contract and how the Packers anticipated it.
“I recognize that they are a young team. I don’t think Jordan Love has shown my anything that make me feel like, ‘Oh my God. He’s one of the guys. He’s the guy that can win it all.'”
The three-time All Pro winner went on to explain how even the Packers know that Love can’t do it all. That is by signing a great wide receiver.
“I said it early in the season, ‘Oh that’s why they got Josh Jacobs. They don’t trust the quarterback. They’re gonna treat him like a rookie. A $55 million rookie, but a rookie.”
Sherman thinks Jordan Love’s issue showed vs the Eagles
Love completed just 20 of his 33 passes last night for a gain 212 yards with no touchdowns and three interceptions.
Sherman believes the Eagles were able to exploit Love and Packers’ weakness, which is the quarterback’s limited passing game.
“If somebody is able to stop the run, like the Philadelphia Eagles, then they’re gonna have a big issue. They’re gonna have to take the training wheels off and they’re gonna have to let him throw the ball and he hasn’t shown that he can take care of the ball at a high level.”
“The truth is the truth, whether you believe it or not,” he ended his take.
