The Green Bay Packers may not be done adding pieces to their offense. We are less than one week away from veterans reporting to training camp, and the Packers front office is still doing their due diligence. Veteran wide receiver John Brown has reportedly worked out for the Green Bay Packers.
Who is WR John Brown?
John Brown was a third round pick for the Arizona Cardinals in 2014. After playing out his four year rookie contract he has bounced around the league. Most notably with the Buffalo Bills and Las Vegas Raiders. Last season he bounced around Denver, Jacksonville, and Tampa Bay. He appeared in four total games but had no receptions.
Brown’s most successful season by far came in 2015 when he eclipsed 1,000 yards and had seen touchdowns. His last productive year was in 2019 when he finished with just over 400 yards and three touchdowns.
What would Brown bring to Green Bay?

Since trading Davante Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders, the Packers will have a much different wide receiving corps. Chrisitan Watson along with veterans in Sammy Watkins, Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb, and Romeo Doubs make for a wide variety of talent. However the addition of Brown could add yet another level to their group. Brown would likely be a filler a fight for that WR5 position. However having a 32 year old veteran as your WR5 (possibly 4) isn’t a bad problem to have. John Brown recorded a 4.32 40 yard dash at his combine and has kept his speed most of his career.
