The Green Bay Packers moved on from a number of players this past off-season. Whether it was by trade or free agency, the 2022 Packers look much different than 2021. One former Packers player found himself on the receiving end of a stiff fine from this past weekend. Current Minnesota Vikings defensive back Chandon Sullivan was fined by the NFL today.
Defensive Back Chandon Sullivan Fined Nearly $10,000
According to Ian Rapoport, DB Chandon Sullivan was fined for unsportsmanlike conduct this past weekend.
Vikings DB Chandon Sullivan was fined $9,444 for unsportsmanlike conduct – removing his helmet in frustration after officials blew dead an obvious fumble, costing Sullivan a touchdown for the second time last week against the Colts.
Sullivan seemingly had a fumble recovery in the second quarter that he took to the house. It would have been the first points for the Vikings in the game. However, the refs ruled that the play was already dead before the Vikings’ defensive back was able to gather the ball and score the TD. It happened again to Sullivan in the fourth quarter. With the Vikings down eight points with only a little over three minutes remaining in regulation, Sullivan picked up a Deon Jackson fumble and waltzed into the end zone, but officials called that the play was dead. It was after the second fumble that Sullivan took his helmet off in frustration.
The Packers and Vikings will play again in Week 17 at Lambeau Field. If Green Bay is able to win in Miami, it will be a must-win game for the Packers. While the Vikings got the best of the Packers in week one, we have seen the Vikings’ defense struggle much of the season. Through 15 weeks the Vikings’ defense ranks 31st in the NFL in pass yards allowed (3,903).
