Today is the start of the early signing period for college football. It is the day when a lot of verbal commitments turn into official signings. The Wisconsin Badgers have had a busy day so far getting many of their 3 and 4-star recruits to sign National Letters of Intent (NLI). 3-star RB Nate White has signed an NLI with the Badgers.

Nate White Signs NLI With Badgers
When he came to Madison, Luke Fickell said he wanted to recruit the state. Nate White fits that bill as he is a Milwaukee native. While Fickell was not the one who initially did the recruiting, as he committed to the program in May, he did keep White committed to the program. Wisconsin has a long history of great running backs and White looks like an exciting addition to the backfield.
A Raw Talent
White is a little more of a raw recruit. He is a slippery, elusive runner who can score from anywhere on the field. He can be used in a variety of ways whether it be jet sweeps, wildcat, or screen passes. Out of necessity, he played some QB in his junior year. While this was a great experience for him, his potential as a receiver is largely unknown. The good news is that the raw skills are there and he can become a project for Fickell and his staff. It is unlikely that White would crack the top of the depth chart his freshman year so he has time to develop.
Seeing Nate White sign an NLI with the Badgers is great news. A playmaker like White is useful to any team. Hopefully, Fickell and his staff can coach him up and he can dominate games in the coming seasons.
