It has been a busy early signing day for the Wisconsin Badgers. Today is the day when many of the verbal commits officially sign National Letters of Intent (NLI). One of those commits that have been signed is LB Jordan Mayer who has officially signed his NLI with the Badgers.
The linebacker legacy continues 📈

Jordan Mayer Signs NLI With Badgers
Mayer is a 6’4″ 235 LB out of Clairton, Pennsylvania. Back in March, he was originally committed to Boston College but decommited a month later. He was heavily recruited by many programs, including the Cincinnati Bearcats, but never committed to any program. That changed in June when he verbally committed to the Badgers. In an interview, he talked about how the Badgers were the only program that really came after him hard. This left an impression on him and it ended in a commitment. After Fickell came over to the program, Mayer did not change his commitment and is now a Wisconsin Badger.
Looking To Keep The Linebacker Legacy Alive
Wisconsin has had a history of coaching great linebacker talent. Mayer fits the profile perfectly. He has a great blend of strength and quickness which allows him to rush the passer off the edge very well. This combination also makes him formidable against the run as he is great at plugging up the hole but also has good pursuit. He seems like the perfect fit for a Wisconsin linebacker.
Jordan Mayer singing an NLI adds another recruit to the Badgers’ class. While verbal commitments are great, getting all of these players signed is good to see. There is already so much excitement for next season when we possibly get to see some of these recruits on the field.
