The Packers picked up a pivotal win against the Rams on Monday night. The defense especially looked better. They got to Baker Mayfield throughout the game and while they didn’t get the predicted seven interceptions, they did get him once. Rasul Douglas picked off an underthrown ball and was clearly thinking of taking it to the house. As he was being tackled he inexplicably lateraled it behind him. Fortunately, Adrian Amos picked it up and the Packers retained possession. After the game, Rasul Douglas revealed what he was thinking during that lateral.
Rasul Douglas on his wild lateral after his INT: "As I was going down, I underhanded it and then I seen it hit the ground. And I was like, ‘Damn, this is about to be like the Raiders and Patriots.’"
On his teammates: "They were just like, ‘What the hell are you on?’"

Rasul Douglas On Lateral INT
Yesterday, the Raiders vs. Patriots game ended in an embarrassing fashion. Jakobi Meyers lateraled the ball across the field and it was caught by Chandler Jones who promptly ran it into the endzone for a walk-off win. It was a huge viral video and talking point all day Monday. As soon as the ball hit the ground, that play ran through Douglas’ mind.
“As I was going down, I underhanded it and then I seen it hit the ground. And I was like, ‘Damn, this is about to be like the Raiders and Patriots.'”
If only Douglas had thought about that game a second before the lateral. His teammates were clearly confused about what he was thinking. Douglas revealed they told him, “What the hell are you on?” after the play. Ultimately it worked out and it is a play to laugh at but it could’ve gone very wrong.
Secondary Will Get A Big Test Next Week
The Packers will have a big test next week. They play the Dolphins on the road and will have to deal with the tandem of Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. Hopefully, this performance can snowball into a winning streak. Douglas has not had the interceptions he had last year so it was good to see him get one on Monday night. They will need to be on top of their game if they are going to shut down the Dolphins.
Hopefully, Rasul Douglas will not try any more laterals after an INT this season. The Raiders and Patriots game and this play hopefully taught him a lesson.

I dont see how lateraling the ball after an interception is smart football? I mean you have just stollen the ball from the opposition why wouldn’t u just take the knee and capitolize on the interception! Douglas is way smarter then that! I know this2 b true based on his performance last year!!!
