Randall Cobb is out for the time being but he seems to have avoided a long term injury. This is great news for the Packers as Cobb has turned back the clock and is having a great season. Aaron Rodgers clearly loves Cobb especially on 3rd down. When asked about coming off his injury, Randall Cobb had some positive comments.
Randall Cobb Has Positive Comments About Injury
Randall Cobb told @mattschneidman & me his left ankle sprain is same injury he had in ‘16 when he missed final 2 reg season games.
He said it’s a 2-6 week recovery.
Asked if he can pick up where he left off, he reminded us he had 3 TDs in 1st game back vs. NYG in ‘16 playoffs

Randall Cobb has had this injury before. He suffered it in 2016 so he knows the recovery well. He said that it would be about a 2-6 week recovery depending on how the ankle feels. This is much better than what it initially looked like on Sunday. When asked whether he can pick up where he left off on the season, Cobb reminded reporters what he did in his first game back in 2016. It was in the playoffs against the New York Giants and he caught 3 touchdowns. It is great to see Cobb in such great spirits about the injury.
How Quick Can He Come Back?
Cobb is older than he was in 2016 (obviously). The hope is that the recovery is closer to the 2 weeks rather than the 6 weeks. The Packers desperately need help at wide receiver. Cobb’s injury is a big reason why many analysts have the Packers in so many trade rumors. Even if it is 6 weeks, this puts Cobb back in the lineup during the playoff push. The question is whether the Packers can stay in the hunt long enough for Cobb to make a difference when he gets back.
Hopefully Cobb can have a 2016 like impact when he gets back. With a weak NFC, the Packers are definitely not out of the playoff hunt. Most likely, they will need Cobb for a playoff push in the last four weeks of the season. It is great to hear Randall Cobb have such positive comments on his injury.
