The Green Bay Packers could have a completely new look in 2023. Aaron Rodgers’ future in Green Bay is completely up in the air. At this point, we are not sure if the four-time MVP QB even wants to play football going forward. If Aaron Rodgers retires or ends up being traded, it would signal the start of the Jordan Love era. However, there is one quarterback who started nine games in 2022 and wants to play for the Green Bay Packers.
Taylor Heinicke Wants To Play For Green Bay Packers

During an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show, Taylor Heinicke spoke candidly about how he would like to be a starter, but backup quarterback is probably one of the best jobs in America. He also revealed that playing for the team he grew up rooting for.
“Obviously, I would love to go to the Packers,” Heinicke said Tuesday on “The Pat McAfee Show.” “That’s been a childhood dream of mine, to play for the Packers.

If Aaron Rodgers returns to Green Bay you can bet this move won’t happen. The Packers would have Jordan Love and Aaron Rodgers on the same roster for yet another year. There wouldn’t be any room for a third QB with so much starting experience. However, if Rodgers and the Packers part ways, Taylor Heinicke would be the perfect back-up plan for Jordan Love.
Heinicke was 5-3-1 as a starter for the Washington Commanders in 2022. He finished the season completing 62% of his passes, 1,859 passing yards, 12 touchdowns, and 6 interceptions. He sparked life into a Commanders team that desperately needed it. The fans immediately fell in love with him and proved he can be a competent starter in this league. In his three years with Washington, Heinicke recorded 5,415 passing yards, 33 touchdowns, and 21 interceptions on a 64.0 completion percentage. As a starter, Heinicke had a 12-11-1 record.
