The Green Bay Packers could be in the market for a veteran wide receiver this off-season. With the possible departure of Randall Cobb and Allen Lazard, targeting a veteran wide receiver this off-season could be near the top of the Packers’ “to-do” list. The 2023 off-season will be littered with veteran wide receivers up for grabs via free agency and trades. Today, one more veteran wide receiver joined that list.
Allen Robinson Demands Trade From Los Angeles Rams
Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reports that the Los Angeles Rams have given Allen Robinson permission to talk to other teams about trading for him. The report adds that the Rams are willing to pay part of Robinson’s $15.25 million guaranteed salary in order to make a deal happen. Robinson signed a three-year deal with the Rams during the 2022 off-season. He finished the 2022-23 season with 33 catches for 339 yards and three touchdowns. That production came in 10 games before going on injured reserve in November.
While Allen Robinson had a down years in 2021 and 2022, he has seen an incredible amount of success in this league. In 2019 and 2020, he played in all 32 regular season games, accumulated 2,397 receiving yards, and 13 touchdowns with the Chicago Bears. With Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs certainly being the future of the wide receiver position for the Green Bay Packers, adding a proven veteran like Allen Robinson could provide much needed depth. It will be interesting to see what the Rams would be seeking in a trade, however, any mid round picks could be worth it for the 29-year-old wide receiver.
