Preview: Keys to Victory Against the Chicago Bears

The Packers are on the road this Sunday as they take on the Chicago Bears at Solider Field. Without a doubt, this is not the same team that the Packers faced in Week 11. The Bears are on a three-game win streak.  They also look more confident and motivated facing the Packers Sunday. The Packers can’t take the Bears lightly.. With that, here are the Keys to Victory against the Chicago Bears on Sunday.

Packers defense steps up to challenge against Derrick Henry, Titans

    Key #1- Stop David Montgomery

The Packers did a good job against Derrick Henry last week.  Even so, they have another tough challenge in David Montgomery. Montgomery has been a big part in the Bears offense’s big improvement over the past couple of weeks. Indeed, this has been a big second year jump for Montgomery.  He has already rushed for over 1,000 yards for the season. Certainly the Bears running game is going to be used to keep the Packers’ offense and Aaron Rodgers off the field. Let’s hope the run defense doesn’t fall off and continues to keep improving as it has. If the Packers can’t stop David Montgomery, they are in trouble.

Key #2- Pressure Mitch Trubisky and Keep Him in the Pocket

Mitch Trubisky is playing at a high level as he is leading the charge in helping the Bears make the postseason. That being said, the Packers pass rush needs to get to him and make him uncomfortable. The last couple of weeks, opposing defenses haven’t done a good job and getting to Trubisky, which led to them getting picked apart. That can’t happen on Sunday. The pass rush needs to continue its dominance on Sunday and get to Mitch Trubisky and contain him in the pocket. Mitch can be dangerous outside of the pocket, so the Packers need to be disciplined in the rush lanes. Getting to Trubisky is certainly important because if they don’t, he will pick them apart.

Unsung heroes' on Packers' offensive line have made Aaron Rodgers' life easierKey #3 Offensive Line Is Facing a Pass Rush with Akiem Hicks This Time

This is a key because the Packers did benefit from not having to face Akiem Hicks in Week 11. Now he will most likely be back this Sunday for the Bears. Hicks is an important part of the Bears defense as he helps against the run and opens things up for others like Khalil Mack. The offensive line will be tested as the Bears defensive front looks really different than the last matchup. The right side, depending on who is going to start, will be tested with Hicks and Mack this Sunday. Let’s see how the offensive line will do against a healthy Akiem Hicks on Sunday.

3 Ways the Green Bay Packers Defense can Improve in 2020

Key#4: Stay Focused and Know What Is at Stake

The Number One seed is at stake for the Packers, so they can not overlook the Bears and need to take them seriously. The Bears are not going to lay down for us and are playing for a postseason berth. They are going to come ready to play and are going to give the Packers their best shot.  The Packers have proven to be arguably the best team in the NFC. Now they have to keep that focus and take care of business Sunday.
