After beginning my game by game prediction for the Green Bay Packers this season on Monday, today I switch over to games 5-8. Currently, I have the Packers with a 4-1 record. Every game is difficult in the NFL and there is no room to have a long losing streak. With a current 4-1 prediction, here is now I see the next four games ending for the Green Bay Packers.
Green Bay Packers Schedule Prediction: Week 5: at Los Angeles Rams
I think the Green Bay Packers are a better football team than the Rams, but the Packers typically do not play well on the East coast and the West coast. If Matthew Stafford is healthy, he is always a problem for opposing defenses.
The duo of wide receivers Cooper Kupp and Puca Nacua are one of the best in the NFL as well. I also like Kyren Williams, who is coming off 1,000 yards rushing last year. I think the Packers can put up some points, but Nacua, Kupp, and Williams will present some problems for this defense. I think Green Bay drops a close road game.
Week 6: Home vs Arizona Cardinals
Arizona will likely be one of the struggling teams in the NFL this season. That isn’t to say they lack talent. Quarterback Kyler Murray can be a threat with his legs and rookie wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr has a great future in this league. James Connor is tough running back who is coming off a 1,000 yard rushing season in 2023.
A noon road game for a team on the West coast can be hard to prepare for. I don’t think this game will be all that close and should get the Green Bay Packers back on the winning track.
Week 7: Home vs Texans
I still have a hard time believing this is a noon game. The Texans and the Packers are two of the better teams in the NFL and has shoot-out written all over it. I would expect a lot of points to be on the scoreboard.
C.J. Stroud was very good as a rookie last season and is already of the better quarterbacks in the NFL. The Texans also bring in veterans Joe Mixon and Stefon Diggs to compliment young players Tank Dell, Nico Collins, and Dameon Pierce. I think this decided by a field goal with the Green Bay Packers coming out on top.
Week 8: At Jacksonville Jaguars
Just like the Rams game, I don’t like Green Bay’s chances against Jacksonville, While I also believe the Packers are the better team, they don’t play well in different time zones.
It almost feels like now or never for the Jaguars. I like quarterback Trevor Lawrence and running back Travis Etienne Jr. Receivers Christian Kirk and rookie Brian Thomas Jr are good threats on each side. I think the Jacksonville defense is one of the better units in the league. As a result, I think they are the difference. Give me the Jaguars over the Green Bay Packers in a close game.
