Mike Budenholzer is officially on the hot seat. The Milwaukee Bucks lost to the Miami Heat in five games. The issue throughout the series was simple coaching mistakes. Timeouts were held onto in key moments. Substitution patterns left a lot of people scratching their heads. A failure to adapt to Jimmy Butler‘s scoring. It was an absolute mess and a lot of fans are calling for Budenholzer’s job. Here are three potential replacements for Mike Budenholzer.

Potential Replacements For Mike Budenholzer: Nick Nurse

Nurse is an obvious candidate for any team looking for a head coach. Sometimes things just go sour between a coach and a locker room. This doesn’t mean that the coach is bad or the team is bad but that they are gelling. Nurse has the championship pedigree and a track record of winning big games. He has coached superstars and preaches tough defense. If the Bucks job were to come available, it would be an attractive one. Nurse could come into a championship roster and show the Toronto Raptors that they made a mistake.

    Chris Quinn

Quinn is currently an assistant coach for the Miami Heat. It seems like a good strategy to take from the team that just stomped you in the first round. Clearly, the Heat can rise to the occasion in the playoffs and while some of that is on the head coach, assistants play a big role. The Heat have been able to sustain success over the last decade despite rapidly changing rosters. Quinn would be a fresh young face and a way to stick it to the Miami Heat.

    Charles Lee

If the Bucks were looking for a minor change, they could look to their own staff. Lee is already one of the top candidates in the head coaching cycle. He has already interviewed with the Detroit Pistons about their vacancy. Lee already knows the roster, the players, and the organization. If the problem is simply Budenholzer, transitioning to Lee might work out well. It would keep some continuity while still getting a semi-new voice for the team.

    Book an Athlete Appearance Final

Something has to change after the loss to the Heat. If the team were to have lost in the Eastern Conference finals or the Finals, so be it. To lose to a team that had to win two play-in games to even be in the playoffs is downright embarrassing. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Bucks are already looking for potential replacements for Mike Budenholzer.
