Zacch Pickens Scouting Report
Per NFL Draft Buzz, Pickens has the following strengths and weaknesses:
Strengths
- He’s a decent mover who shows surprising quickness for a 300-pounder when chasing the ball carrier in pursuit
- Looks the part with natural size and filled-out frame with good body thickness
- Pickens has the lateral agility and balance to cover two gaps, and Pickens shows some good closing burst when moving down the line in pursuit
- Can make the impressive chest-to-chest bear hug tackle in the hole due to his ability to wreak havoc in the backfield
Weaknesses
- Must improve hand use and read-and-react skills. Lacks the violent hands to shed and can be eliminated by double-team blocks
- Lacks secondary pass-rush moves

Zacch Pickens in Mock Drafts
According to NFL Mock Draft Database, Pickens is a projected fifth-round pick. Throughout the year, Pickens hovered in the second to the third-round range but has fallen off throughout the season. Statistically, he did not light up the stat sheet but his physical frame makes him an NFL-caliber player. With coaching, he should be a solid piece of a team. Currently, he has not appeared in any mock drafts since mid-October.
Would Zacch Pickens Fit on the Packers?
The Packers have some need for an interior pass rush and I think that Pickens could be a great addition in the later rounds. He doesn’t need to be “the guy” as Kenny Clark and Devonte Wyatt will take more of the double teams. If he can win his one-on-one matchups, he might be a good piece for the Packers.
Check Out Another Prospect That Could Fit For the Packers
I love Pickens as a fifth or sixth-round pick for the Packers. It is a low-risk pick that could pay dividends down the road. GM Brian Gutekunst might take another DT in earlier rounds but defensive line depth is never a bad thing. If Pickens falls, some team might get a steal of a pick in the late rounds.
