Per NFL Draft Buzz, McDonald IV has the following strengths and weaknesses:
Strengths
- McDonald has a high motor and does a solid job setting the edge against the run
- He has a lethal spin move and the pure speed to close quickly
- Challenges inside with quickness and strong hands. Run-and-chase defender who can leave a mark
- He’s quick to react and locate the ball, and McDonald shows the speed to succeed in backside pursuit
Weaknesses
- McDonald is so eager to get upfield that he far too often abandons responsibilities against the run
- He lacks the feet and flexibility to threaten around the edge

Will McDonald IV in Mock Drafts
According to NFL Mock Draft Database, McDonald IV is a projected third-round pick. There are a few mock drafts floating out there that have him going in the late first round. The edge position is deep and different people like different players for different reasons. Where many edge prospects go will be utterly dependent on GM preference. Below is a list of mock drafts and where they have McDonald IV being drafted.

Would Will McDonald IV Fit on the Packers?
The Packers definitely need some edge depth. However, I think that GM Brian Gutekunst waits to take one in the later rounds. Kingsley Enagbare was a fifth-round pick and made an impact as a rookie. I think Gutekunst decides to do something similar and wait for a value pick in the later rounds.
Check Out Another Prospect That Could Fit For the Packers
McDonald IV looks like a solid fit for the Packers. Again, it all depends on the measurables that Gutekunst and the Packers are looking for. It will also depend on when McDonald IV is available. I expect the Packers to address other needs before the edge position as other positions do not have as deep of a class.
