Rashad Torrence II Scouting Report
Per NFL Draft Buzz, Torrence II has the following strengths and weaknesses:
Strengths
- Quicker than Torrence is fast but has a burst to close in zone coverage and plays physically at the line in man
- Great on route recognition and has click-and-close ability
- Is an explosive mover with quickness and speed. He’s at his best attacking downhill, shooting gaps in run support, and disrupting the backfield
- Eager to come downhill as a tackler and plays with a physical edge, and he’s effective as a blitzer
Weaknesses
- The majority of the time last season, Torrence was able to physically overwhelm opposing receivers early in the down, a scenario that won’t play out as often against NFL receivers
- Takes poor angles on the ball and lacks the pure speed to chase down the ball carrier
- Has a cornerback body and needs to continue to get stronger to be more effective at shedding blocks

Rashad Torrence II in Mock Drafts
According to NFL Mock Draft Database, Torrence II is a projected third-round pick. He has shot up draft boards in recent weeks as scouts are falling in love with his talent. However, this is very new and as such he has not appeared in any mock drafts since mid-October. However, keep an eye out for him to be on a couple of mock drafts in the coming weeks.
Would Rashad Torrence II Fit on the Packers?
The Packers need to fix the safety position and Torrence II does have some desirable qualities. His ability to help in run support and his route recognition are skills the Packers desperately need on the back end. If GM Brian Gutekunst decides to wait on a safety, Torrence II might be a target for him in the mid-rounds.
Check Out Another Prospect That Could Fit For the Packers
The only concern about Torrence II is his size. College is different than the pros and receivers are bigger and faster. Torrence II will need to build his skills rather than rely solely on his physicality. I do think that these weaknesses are coachable and if Torrence II became a Packer, it would be a solid pick.
