Marcel Brooks Scouting Report
Per NFL Draft Buzz, Brooks has the following strengths and weaknesses:
Strengths
- Excellent power and initial quickness
- Violent hands
- Excellent feel for working off blockers
Weaknesses
- Struggles at point of attack
- Needs the scheme to create deception and confusion in order for him to get a free run
There is very little scouting information on Brooks as a wide receiver. Something that could be a strength and weakness at the same time is how versatile Brooks is. Teams could decide whether to play him on offense or defense depending on need. Some could see this as an asset while others may look at this as a weakness.

Marcel Brooks in Mock Drafts
According to NFL Mock Draft Database, Brooks is projected as an undrafted free agent. Currently, there are no mock drafts that have Brooks being picked. Most likely this is due to the fact that teams don’t know what he is. Teams would rather have a prospect that does one thing really well rather than one that does a bunch of things simply okay. He looks to be a candidate to come on a practice squad after the draft.
Would Marcel Brooks Fit on the Packers?
Brooks is an intriguing prospect for the Packers. Edge depth is definitely needed and having another wide receiver on the roster is never a bad thing either. However, two-way players simply do not fly at the NFL level. He would have to pick a position, most likely edge, in order to make the Packers’ roster.
Check Out Another TCU Prospect That Could Fit For the Packers
I don’t see this fit working for the Packers. There are many other edge players out there that do not come with the baggage of multiple positions. There is a possibility that the Packers bring him in for the preseason but I do not see the Packers using any draft capital on a player like Brooks.
