Jahmyr Gibbs Scouting Report
Per NFL Draft Buzz, Gibbs has the following strengths and weaknesses:
Strengths
- Best skill set of any RB in this class, will truly fit into any scheme
- Great pass catcher with a more advanced route tree than would be expected of a RB
- Electric speed allowing him to easily burn tacklers on corners
- Possess fluidity as a runner, can stop on a dime or turn on the jets at will
Weaknesses
- Pass blocking leaves much to be desired
- Has less weight than expected of a power back, if he is adopted into an offense that uses him as a bell-cow, he would need to add muscle to compete with NFL defensive lines

Jahmyr Gibbs in Mock Drafts
According to NFL Mock Draft Database, Gibbs is projected as a late first-round pick. As one of the top running backs in the class, he is a perfect fit for a contender that is looking to add a dynamic player to their backfield. He is a complete back that can start right away. Below is a list of mock drafts and where they have Gibbs being drafted.
- 33rd Team – No. 29 overall: Broncos
- CBS Sports – No. 31: Chiefs
- San Deigo Union Tribune – No. 31: Eagles
- Draftwire – No. 31: Eagles
Would Jahmyr Gibbs Fit on the Packers?
While RB is not a primary need for the Packers, it is something that they should look for in the draft. However, the Packers have had success outside of the first round with RBs. AJ Dillon was a second-round pick. Aaron Jones was a fifth-round pick. RBs on other teams have been found outside of the first round. It is difficult to see GM Brian Gutekunst spending a first-round pick on a RB.
Check Out Another Prospect That Could Fit For the Packers
In a vacuum, however, Gibbs is a great pick for the Packers. His pass-catching ability along with top-end speed would make him lethal in the Matt LaFleur offense. Look what Christian Watson has been able to do with his speed. If somehow Gibbs falls to the middle of the second round, Gutekunst could make a big splash in the backfield.
