Garrett Williams Scouting Report
Per NFL Draft Buzz, Williams has the following strengths and weaknesses:
Strengths
- Can track the ball downfield and gets his head around when playing in a trail position, and Williams shows excellent ball skills when breaking on a route
- He’s a plus tackler in run support as well
- A very quick and very confident cover corner plays bigger than his listed size when lined up in press coverage, delivering quick, surprisingly powerful punches and using his natural quickness and change-of-direction ability to mirror on underneath routes
Weaknesses
- The majority of the time last season, Williams was able to physically overwhelm opposing receivers early in the down, a scenario that won’t play out as often against NFL receivers
- Neither his size nor his straight-line speed would be considered elite

Garrett Williams in Mock Drafts
According to NFL Mock Draft Database, Williams is a projected third-round pick. A limited number of mock drafts have him sneaking into the first round but he seems to be falling out of favor with many scouts. This cornerback class is loaded and not every player is going in the first round. Below is a list of mock drafts and where they have Willaims being drafted.

Would Garrett Williams Fit on the Packers?
Picking a cornerback in this draft will be simply to build some depth. Jaire Alexander, Eric Stokes, and Rasul Douglas have the top three spots occupied on the Packers’ depth chart. This is not to say that GM Brian Gutekunst will not take any corners in this draft but I expect him to address other areas of need in the first two days of the draft.
Check Out Another Prospect That Could Fit For the Packers
With how deep this cornerback class is thought, it would not surprise me if the Packers pick up a corner on day 3. In general, I think some teams are going to get really good value in the later rounds at the cornerback position because of how deep the class is. The Packers might be one of those teams. Keep an eye out for players like Williams if they fall to the later rounds.
