Cedric Tillman Scouting Report
Per NFL Draft Buzz, Tillman has the following strengths and weaknesses:
Strengths
- Tillman tracks the ball well downfield and consistently runs under long throws
- Strong runner with the ball with enough agility to make defenders miss in the open field
- Thriving on physicality, he’s a contested-catch specialist with a knack for warding off defenders while the ball is in the air. He has strong hands and the ability to wrestle the ball away from defenders
- Physical player able to get off press coverage to release up the sideline or position himself inside the cornerback on slants and crossing routes
Weaknesses
- He’ll have to develop a better feel for sitting down against zone coverage
- Tillman isn’t going to overwhelm opposing defensive backs with speed and athleticism
- Tillman lacks the twitch to create consistent separation

Cedric Tillman in Mock Drafts
According to NFL Mock Draft Database, Tillman is a projected third-round pick. However, there are a couple of mock drafts that have him sneaking into the earlier rounds. Tennessee had one of the most explosive offenses in college football and his has polished skills to make difficult catches. Below is a list of mock drafts and where they have Tillman being drafted.
- Sports Illustrated – No. 19 overall: Jaguars
- Pro Football Network – Second round: Lions
Would Cedric Tillman Fit on the Packers?
The Packers definitely have a need a wide receiver and Tillman looks like a good fit. Tillman’s build is consistent with what GM Brian Gutekunst likes to draft. Christian Watson at 6’5″ and Tillman at 6’3″ would give the Packers a couple of giant receivers on the outside.
Check Out Another Prospect That Could Fit For the Packers
The question really comes with fit. The Packers could use a receiver but I think the need is more for a slot receiver than an outside. There is a possibility that Watson could move to the slot and become a matchup nightmare but the Packers also want to use his speed on the outside. Tillman would definitely be a solid pick for the Packers and it is just a question of fit.
