Andre Carter II Scouting Report
Per NFL Draft Buzz, Carter II has the following strengths and weaknesses:
Strengths
- He’s a fluid, fast, and aggressive tackling machine, an elite athlete considering his size
- Carter has quickness in his hands and uses his length effectively
- He’s elite coming out of his stance, and he shows the ability to ward off blockers with quick, violent hands and possesses a massive wing span
- Not just an edge rusher but is a complete linebacker who is surprisingly smooth when it comes to dropping into coverage defending the pass
Weaknesses
- His upper body is a lot more developed than his lower half leaving him at the mercy of smaller powerful blockers in the run game
- Height leaves him susceptible to cut blocks Carter must learn to defeat with his hands
- He’s perfectly capable of converting speed into power when he gets to the ball, but too often he slips off tackles or turns into a grab-and-drag tackler rather than a hitter, failing to keep his legs driving through the hit

Would Andre Carter II Fit on the Packers?
I love the idea of Carter II on the Packers. The versatility is interesting and unlike any player in the draft. If you need an outside linebacker, he can be a rangy linebacker that plays well at the second level. If you need an edge rusher, he can be that too. The undersized concerns are there but often players can easily bulk up once football becomes their full time job.
Check Out Another Prospect That Could Fit For the Packers
The Packers have prided themselves in bringing in high character people and Carter II would also fit that bill. He would fit in perfectly in the town of Green Bay. There are some unknowns with Carter II as a multiple position player often struggles to adapt to the NFL. However, there is huge upside that the Packers might roll the dice on.
