Wisconsin Badgers basketball might have an advantage when it comes to the race to sign Harun Zrno, a promising 6’6 wing from Bosnia, after his statements about the team right after the conclusion of his official visit.
Zrno is a 21-year-old college freshman that will be eligible to play by fall of 2025.
The University of Wisconsin, currently on a five-game winning streak, is one of many basketball programs anticipated his visit as he is still choosing which team he will join.
Badgers impressed the young Bosnian according to Nick Osen of 247 Sports.
One thing that stood out for him during the visit was Wisconsin’s comment on the familiarity of his game withe Badgers. He made the comment after he was shown a film of one of the team’s game and thought that their system is similar to his team back home.
“I really like their style of play and everything. They told me that they really love that I am playing a really similar game back home.”
Before that, Hrno spoke about the Badgers positively, including giving praises to coach Greg Gard.
“The coaching staff is awesome and the culture they have in the program is amazing. Everyone cares about each other and culture really stands out,” he said.

Badgers will need to level up their recruitment process if they want to ensure the signature of Zrno.
The 21-year old visited Indiana before Wisconsin.
Other teams reportedly in contact with the international recruit are Creighton, Virginia, Gonzaga, Rutgers, Georgia Tech, and Kansas State.
He is expected to make a visit to these schools by February.
The interest on Zrno is not all about hype.
He is currently averaging 20 points a game in Bosnia while shooting 48% from three.
