Rashan Gary had a fantastic 2021 season. His growth year to year, and his drive to be the best has garnered him a spot among the best defenders under 25 according to PFF. The Packers were smart about unleashing Gary. It seems to have paid dividends for both sides. Rashan Gary was arguably the Packers best defender in 2021. With Za’darious Smith missing 90 percent of the season, Gary filled in beautifully. Rashan has shown growth in all three seasons as a Packer, and in 2021 led the team with 9.5 sacks. Let’s take a look at the list and who else got the distinguished honor.
Highest Graded Defenders Under 25
First on the list is Maxx Crosby. Coming in at a 91.4 Crosby has been a standout for the Raiders and just earned himself a mega contract extension. Four years and $94 Million for the third year pro.
Second on the list is Micah Parsons. Coming in with an 89.8 Micah Parsons was a rookie in 2021 and made an immediate impact to the Cowboys defense. He was voted into the Pro Bowl, was an All-Pro and was the unanimous Defensive Rookie of the Year.
Third is our guy Rashan Gary. Coming in with an 89.3, the future is bright for the young star. With Za’darius Smith moving on to Minnesota, the position opposite Preston Smith is his for the future. I’m excited to see what Rashan Gary can do in his 4th year as a pro.

Finally, fourth on the list is Nick Bosa. Bosa comes in with an 88.3. Bosa missed nearly all of the 2020 season with an ACL injury. But Bosa came back with a vengeance in 2021 and tallied 15.5 sacks. A tremendous season for the star in San Fran.
