Patrick Mahomes has high praise for Aaron Rodgers in his all-time quarterbacks list
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is on a historic pace to be one of the greatest of all time at his position. After his second Super Bowl MVP last season, Mahomes returns this year hoping to earn his third Lombardi Trophy.
But before the season starts, Mahomes sat down with Complex and talked a variety of things including who is in his all-time top five quarterbacks. And that included Aaron Rodgers.
Mahomes listed off his top five quarterbacks in NFL history with Tom Brady taking the top spot followed by Peyton Manning. After that, it was Rodgers that came in at No. 3:

Patrick Mahomes and Aaron Rodgers have never faced off in their careers thus far. In the two meetings, Mahomes was hurt for the first game in 2019 while Rodgers was out with COVID-19 in the second meeting a few years back.
Now with Rodgers in the AFC, the two will meet in 2023 in primetime. And for Patrick Mahomes, he’s ready for the challenge.
“I don’t think it motivates me anymore, but the crazy part was when you play those great quarterbacks, you expect to play them at some point in the playoffs, in the Super Bowl, that should be your goal. And so they come to the AFC, it just makes the AFC even better. But I’ve been lucky enough to play in a division where it’s like playoff football every single week and people wonder why we have so much success, and I’m like when you play playoff football teams when you get to the playoffs, it doesn’t seem like it’s such a big transition. So if you tell yourself that and you go through the AFC, and you’re winning AFC games week in and week out when you get to the playoffs and you get to the Super Bowl, you’re like, “I’ve been playing this type of football yearlong.”
For Packers fans, it should be no surprise seeing Rodgers listed among the GOATs at the quarterback position by another player that should see his name there too.
